WAVES

What is a wave?
A progressive disturbance propagated from point to point in a medium or space without progress or advance by the points themselves, as in the transmission of sound or light.
Above is an example of wave. In it points are not chaging its mean position but one point is pushing next point and then coming back to its original position. Thus disturbance is being transferred from one point to other but particles or points are not changing their positions.
